Production Blog: Creating the Postcard
Up next was making the postcard! I was a bit nervous as I have never made something like this before. But it made me think, hey! Maybe it won't too different from a website. Boy was I wrong... If anything, this was FAR easier than a website! I was so relived when I began making this. The website took a long time for me to figure out, despite having made websites in the past. Wix was tricky to figure out, even if I had some friends helping me.
The postcard was not so bad. Originally, I didn't know how to make one. My teacher suggested using a website called Canva. I used to use this website back in 2020 to edit pictures so I already had an account. But it was still tricky to get used to it again since everything had been updated.
I began by choosing two background pictures for either side of the postcard. I thought that it would look cool if there were two different pictures on each side. I ended up blurring them because they looked a bit bulky if they were just displayed normally. I chose some cool font and made up some dates for the release. I chose a local movie theater near me to release them at. I then added the links to the social media accounts. Now for the QR code, I thought it would be harder but it truly was not. I just found a QR code generating website and inserted the link to our website into the generator and it created a customized QR code! I simply screenshotted it and added it to the postcard.
