Planning Blog

One of the first steps to making a short film is building a schedule that works for everyone involved. Unfortunately, my partner and I have very busy schedules. I am apart of a musical right now, so my time is taken up by having rehearsals for it. I am also apart of three bands where we have rehearsals every week! And in between that, of course I have to do my schoolwork and take care of myself. As for Aidan, he is equally as busy. Due to baseball season starting and him being on the team, he has practice every single day until 6:00 PM. Since we both have very active schedules, this will cause an issue in being able to find a time that works for both of us. One way we have been able to clear this issue is by clearing time on Saturdays. We also go to the same youth group and church on Sundays, so we are able to talk about our short film during that time and could potentially even film there. The next step is finding people to be in our short film. Aidan and I will both take part in it, but we do need more people. Aidan has asked some members from his baseball team and I have asked some of my band mates, both groups have agreed to help us out.

We also need to find a location to film. We haven't officially decided where we are filming yet, but we do have some ideas. These include Aidan's house, my house, the park, and the beach. The last thing we needed to think of was what roles everyone would play. We came to the conclusion that we would both play the two main characters to make things easier. Then, our participants would play the smaller roles or just be in the background. After we have a finalized group of people that are participating, an official location, and our script, we will begin the filming process. I'm so excited, this is going to be so much fun!
