Production Blog: Last Few Shots

We're finally moving on to our last few shots for our film! All thats left to film are the scenes where Aidan and I are finding the objects and the scenes where Aidan decides to betray my character. We had to find where to put the objects and quick. It was beginning to get dark and the lighting was getting bad. We needed to choose locations where there would be an overhead lamp. While we were walking to find a location, we decided to have a little banter to put in our film. Donovan filmed Aidan and I walking from behind while we were pretending to have an argument.

We found our first location, which was a very small jungle gym type of contraption not far from the playground. The lighting wasn't too bad, but it wasn't great either. We just had to work with what we had. Abby placed the book, which was our first object. She placed it on the inside of the small jungle gym perched up on a stool, yet decently hidden. Aidan and I pretend to not be able to find the book in order to make it more believable and take up some time. After a little while, I found the book and we cheered. Then, we moved onto our next location.

By now, it was decently dark outside. We had to move quick and find a place that had overhead lamps lighting the area. We landed on filming at the softball field. There was a father and his son playing on the field, but we were able to avoid them and make sure that they are not in our video. Abby hid the butter knife (which was our other object to find) under one of the bases. Again, Aidan and I pretended to search and act like we weren't able to find the object. After a few seconds went by, Aidan looked under the base and found the knife.

We cheered again...but here comes our big plot twist! I exclaimed that we were finally able to switch back. But Aidan's character had some other plans. He pulled out the knife and started to chase me with it. We had to reshoot this scene a couple of times as there were many mistakes being made. The camera was either too shaky, one of us were laughing, you could hear too much wind, or you could hear Abby panting while she was running after us. Then, Aidan knocked me over and pretended to stab me. We wrapped up our successful filming trip, and we were off to edit!
